A Boot Camp Makeover at 50!
   
I turned 50 years old early this year. I was out of shape, and heavier than I have ever been in my life. I had moved from the “overweight” classification to the “obese” category—and I didn’t like that word applied to me! It was time to make a change and get in shape and lose some weight.

So, with a co-worker’s urging, I decided to try Kat’s Redlands Adventure Boot Camp. (I honestly thought we were crazy for signing up for a 5:30 am camp, but my friend was going to do it, so I said I would too!) That first week we ached all over—in places I didn’t even know existed! But, we kept at it, and for me, I think this was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel energized and alive and feel really good about the progress I have made.

Since February, I have completed 3 boot camp sessions and 3 extreme weeks and am starting on the 4th! In that time I have lost 21 pounds and 15 ½ inches. Of course, I am eating nutritiously and not going out for ice cream anymore, but the exercise (especially the weight training) is what has made the biggest difference. Kat is a wonderful trainer/motivator/drill sergeant! She gets us going, pushing each one of us to our limits (i.e. you don’t go to boot camp to slack!) But, boot camp is fun—no two days are alike, and the camaraderie with the other campers just adds to the experience. I love boot camp!

went to the doctor for my back pain last September, I weighed 207 lbs. I started my working out and eating right in mid October of last year, and I have lost 56 lbs. I am 1 lb. away from my original goal weight. Anyways, I have to say that my body has not been in this good of shape since I was in college, and I have people ask me all the time what I'm doing to get in shape. So, I think you’re going to need those extra class sessions, the results are showing. I'm glad you mentioned the scale this morning; I completely agree, and tell people all the time that this class is not about the weight. I personally have lost cellulite and inches, and gained muscle and tone. Thanks for everything.

I can’t believe that I have gotten up at that hour to go to class. Best part is that you don’t have to primp and get ready, it’s just throw the clothes on and go. I found out that getting up early is the easy part. ........I can’t believe I’ve almost made it. I can’t believe I’ve skipped rope and done push ups (even if they’re not perfect) and ran......It has been great! I feel better and younger, even if I am the slowest person in the class. I never want to feel like I did on that first day almost 4 weeks ago. I want to do this forever. The instructor was perfect. Fun, friendly, and tough…. Good combination. Thanks Kat...... I love you. You have gotten me to do things I would never do for anyone else. No one can believe I've almost made it 4 weeks. I will never quit.

This fitness and weight loss program is honestly the best gift I have given myself. It is motivating, stimulating and challenging…everything my old routine lacked. It jumpstarts my day and I have met a wonderful group of women from all walks of life. I receive dedicated personal instruction – I couldn’t ask for anything more in an exercise program. You need to do this for yourself.

I have somewhat of an unusual testimonial I thought I'd share with you. On Wednesday after our hike I had a dentist appointment to have a crown work up on a tooth that broke. My dentist is here in Yorba Linda, and her name is Caroline Dang.....she's a great dentist. She was drilling away on my tooth when the anesthetic started to wear off.....I motioned her, and she stopped and gave me another shot and continued. She still wasn't finished when I felt the pain coming back again.....she had to stop again and give me yet a third shot to numb me so she could finish. She couldn't understand why the medication was going through me so quickly because I had to have a crown once before and that didn't happen. I mentioned that I had just gone on a "climb up Mt. Everest" that morning and she said that was it.....my metabolism was running so high that the medication was running through my body faster than normal. She was impressed.....so was I!

I really enjoyed the hike....even though I am so badly out of shape, I just hung in there and made it to the top.....like everyone else.....and boy was that view gorgeous! I appreciate that you lag behind for us slower ones.....you make us feel so good about ourselves.....I can't wait for next Wednesday's hike!

I was completely bored with exercising. I have exercised my whole life and needed a change. It's great to be excited about my workout program again. I'm beginning by 3rd camp soon!

The Adventure Boot Camp is simply the best! I particularly like the variety of activities and the sense of fun that's built into the program. I really felt like I was getting the maximum benefit out of the program. I highly recommend the program to anyone wanting to improve their fitness and overall health.
